On the occasion of International Roma Day, which will be celebrated on April 8, on March 30, 2023 – Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., a round table was held in the Paul-Henri SPAAC building, organized by MEP Livia Jaroca.

The discussions took place in the European Parliament, in room SPAAK 6B1. The purpose of the round table was to celebrate Roma culture, history and art together with all relevant representatives such as Roma politicians, researchers and artists.

The round table was held in two sessions. The first part was a discussion on a proposal for a resolution on the situation of the Roma in Europe at the initiative of the IRU.

In this part, IRU President Zoran Dimov had his own discussions and speeches, then MEP Livia Jaroka, MEP Peter Polak, Bernadette Varga, an expert on Roma health policy.

In this part of their discussions, in addition to the president of IRU Zoran Dimov, other IRU delegates and members such as: Sumi Yusuke, Tore Jarl Bielenberg, Atma Singh, Nadir Redzepi, Verandra Rishi, Admir Ismanovski and Durmish Kjazim as IRU delegate and artist. This resolution from the IRU will be given as an official document by the IRU and to the European Parliament on April 8, the International Roma Day.

In the second part of the session there was a discussion about art, Roma identity in art, life stories with Bari Janó painter, sculptor, Bódi Barbara painter, artist-educator, sociologist, Farkas Attila painter, Ferkovics József painter, graphic artist, Gaudi Márton painter, sculptor, Kállai Gilda painter, Jancsó Zoltán painter, Jakab Krisztián painter, Orsósné Rácz Gyöngyi painter, graphic artist, Ráczné Kalányos Gyöngyi painter, illustrator and Vári Zsolt painter.
