At this 10th Congress of the IRU will show our unity and also will serve as a good opportunity to review and to bring a proposal Resolution which will raise the reputation and the respect of amongst the Romani and the non Roma people, and we will deepen the democracy and the legitimacy of the IRU. The Congress will have discussions regarding the plans of the implementation for the Electronic Internet Voting System which should be implemented at the IRU Congress which is planned to be held in 2020.
The new President is the Delegate from Macedonia Mr. Zoran Dimov, his deputies are the Delegates Ms. Jasmina Ahmetaj from Slovenia, Agush Demirovski from Switzerland, Ajten Berlafa from Finland and Gerard Linder from Poland. The new General Secretary of the IRU is Mr. Ramush Muarem and the new Treasurer of the IRU is Mr. Veli Husein from Croatia. The new President of the IRU Parliament is Mr. Stevo Balog from Austria , while as the Vice Presidents of the IRU Parliament are Ms. Angelica Mashtakova from Italy and Stefan Kuzhicov from Sweden.- Details
This weekend in Stockholm, Sweden the International Romani Union - IRU held a meeting with the appointed Heads of the 10 IRU Commissions and also the Heads which lead the three Programs (Democratic Transition, Kris and the Women IRU Lobby).
During the meeting which was held in the Hotel „Scandic Victoria Tovel„ in Stockholm, all of the Heads of the Commissions presented their Strategies and Programs for the period which comes.

Yesterday within the Conference „Plan for inclusion of the Roma in Sweden 2017-2020” which was held in Stockholm, the members of the IRU were present during that Conference besides the other representatives of the Romani NGO Sector from Sweden, the members from the IRU were the President of the IRU Zoran Dimov, the Chief of all Commissions of the IRU from Sweden Rosita Gronfors, the Vice President of the IRU Stefan Kuzhicov, the Head of the Commission for Education, Language and Science Ajten Berlafa, the Head of the IRU Kris Gregor Julson.

1st October 2016 in Stockholm the IRU will hold a meeting with all of the heads of the IRU Commissions. Also at the same meeting the strategies of each Commission will be presented specifically designated by the Heads. This meeting was initiated by the Chief of All of the Commissions Rosita Gronfors from Sweden and the President of the IRU Zoran Dimov.

Today in France, Strasbourg the Assembly of the Network of International Romani Women Organization known as IRWN - Phenjalipe is in session.
This meeting is participated all relevant organizations, associations and lobby groups which work in the field for the Rights of the Romani woman on international level.

Within the activities the President of the IRU Zoran Dimov visited the Embassy of the Islamic State of Iran where he had a friendly meeting with the Ambassador Mr. Said Sadet Mohammadi. During the meeting Mr. Dimov informed his host about the activities and plans which the IRU is making as the biggest international Romani organization. He was also interested about the state of the Roma which live in Iran for many centuries.
